Default Ski rack for the GX460

I want to install a ski rack on my 2012 GX460 but I'm worried that after I do it will no longer fit in the garage. I measured the clearance and I have anywhere from 12" in the front to 8" of clearance in the back when pulling into the garage. The entry to the garage is a standard size door - roughly 82". I called the dealership yesterday because I haven't been able to find specs/measurements for the racks online. They were not able to find any specs/measurements either and didn't have any in stock because these are a specialty order item. Does anyone have ski racks on their GX? Any ideas about how high they sit up off the vehicle? I'd hate to special order them only to find I can't use them, cant return them and in order to keep them on I'd have to park outside all winter long. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have the OEM rails? If not, you would want to start with them. The two best setups are Yakima and Thule. I'm sure you could contact them and get height measurements.

Also, if you have the Premium model, you can lower the vehicle a couple inches.

Unhappy OEM bars

I have the OEM bars and was planning on ordering the ski racks from Lexus direct opposed to Thule or Yakima. I also have a base GX so I don't have the luxury of lowering my vehicle

Where did you get your OEM cross bars?

Yakima fatcats are low profile, and solid quality.
