Default Power mirrors

Is there any way to set mirrors to open and close automatically ?

No and not sure why they didn't include this feature. It's not like it would have cost them much.

My LS 460 has this feature, but the GX 460 doesn't. There isn't an auto button for the mirrors.

We drove a recent RX 350 loaner while our GX 460 was in for its 36 month/30,000 mile service. The RX has an AUTO button for the power outside mirrors, but with a twist. The mirrors fold in not when the vehicle is put in park, not when the engine is shut down and not when the you exit the vehicle, but only when you touch the 'dimples' on the door handle to lock the vehicle and set the security system!

That seems like a sensible implementation and it certainly solves one problem ... confirming that the vehicle is locked and the security system is armed. In a noisy situation it is hard to hear the 'chirp' when the security system arms and in a distracted situation it is easy to miss the turn signal indicators 'blink' but there is no way to miss the outside mirrors moving!
Regards,

SaniDel

P.S. Bonus point ... it is easy to confirm the vehicle is locked and the security system is armed by visual inspection from a distance ... if the mirrors are in, it is.

Didn't bother to check the model year ... sorry. It was an RX 350 (non-hybrid) demonstrator/loaner with about 8,500 miles so it may have been a 2012 or a "high mileage" 2013.

I hadn't seen this feature before on any Lexus we have owned or driven, but it was a welcome improvement.

This feature is part of the luxury Package that is on my 2012 RX450h.

Just get in the habit of retracting them before getting out of the vehicle. I always hit the door lock switch and now I don't even think about doing it. I just did some off-roading and those power folding mirrors really came in handy!
