Default Turn Signal Wiring Diagram

I need help in locating a wiring diagram for the GX 460 to accomplish the following.

(The wire must be connected to a point that is at ground voltage when the turn signal is ON. You must find a point that is ground when the turn signals are on to make the unit work.)

I'm just curious why one would this, because all one needs is to see and hear that their turn signal is still on.

Koz.....

I already have a unit especially made for automobiles. I just need to locate a special wire.

In the meantime, I have ordered a Repair Manual for the GX 460. It will provide the wiring diagram I need.

Thanks for your support.

Without a diagram you would have use a volt meter (multi-meter) to check every wire untill it is found.

If I'm not mistaken the wiring diagram is in a seperate electrical manual.

How much was the repair manual?

CL member Jeff Lange may be able to get the electrical diagram you are looking for since he works for Toyota.

Both he and I are on the 2IS side of the forum. You may want to contact him there since Jeff has posted 2IS schematics before.

Koz,

The manual comes in the form of a DVD. I have not received it yet.

It cost me close to $200. I'll let you know if the DVD contains the wiring diagram I'm looking for.

There are no wires that are ground when the turn signals are on, you'll likely need to do a bit of wiring to get that to happen.

The 420 has three wires: Red, White & Blue.

The White wire is to be connected to the minus side of the battery (frame of vehicle).

The Red wire connected to +12 volts.

The Blue wire must be connected to a point that is at ground voltage when the turn signal is ON.

That is everything that is needed to connect the unit.

You must find a point that is ground when the turn signals are on to make the unit work.

Yes I understand, however there are no wires on the car from the factory that around grounded when the turn signals are on. If you need that kind of an input, you will need to put in a relay or something similar to allow it to function correctly.

Jeff.....

I believe the Fog Lights have wires that are grounded to make them work. I'm hoping the Turn Signals Lights are similarly wired.

I discovered the wiring of the Fog Lights when I installed a module to make the Fog Lights the DRLs.

Unfortunately the turn signals are not wired that way. They are positively switched on the bulb side (flashing).

There are negatively-switched elements to the switch itself, but left and right are separate, so you'd need to consolidate them using diodes, or similar. Do you need a flashing input or a solid input?
