Default How many quarts of oil?

How many quarts of oil does the 2010 GX take? My 4Runner with a V-8 took 6 1/2 quart when I replaced the filter. I am a little confused about the GX. This is what I got from the My Lexus website:

The extra capacity helps with the extended oil change interval (10K miles).

Add exactly 8q and it should be perfect. You want to be about 2-3 mm from full on the dipstick. Overfilling engine oil is bad for the engine.

Changed the oil/filter on my GX yesterday... Last time I do it myself.

$70 for (2) 5.2 quart bottles of Mobil 1 (cheaper than buying 8 individual quarts), $10 for the filter, had the special wrench for the filter housing.

$100 at the dealer - well worth the extra $20!

The 0w-20 (Toyota oil) is approx $2 cheaper per quart (which has proven to be an excellent oil). I will be using Amsoil 0w-20 because I tow and an OEM filter ($5) for my next change. I will get a UOA at 10 months (approx 8K miles) to see how much life is left in the oil. In the past, I was able to easily run this oil safely for a year with up to 15K miles on it.

I added the exact amount to be on the safe side. I wanted to use AMSOIL but the auto parts store didn't have enough, I was so mad. I heard good reviews about Amsoil that I wanted to try it, at least I used it on my wife's ES350.

I used Amsoil 0w-30 (with a bypass system) in my old V8 4Runner and kept using that oil for over 40K miles and it was still providing safe protection. Great Stuff!

That's amazing, what's a bypass system anyway?
