Vehicle Moving at Stop Light
OK, this is the second time I noticed this. I'm at a stop light, looking around, suddenly, I notice I am slightly moving forward. Is my foot (on the brake) just too relaxed, or what?
I have never experienced this before in any vehicle.
Anyone else?

I think it is the brake, or rather, how your foot steps on the brake, because I had exactly the same experience. My wife complained the same thing a couple of times when I first started to drive the GX.
The GX brake has a different feel from that of all the other cars I had, including another Lexus. It feels a bit "spongy". I found I need to press and hold it very firmly.

I've had the same experience. It seems to be that it happens because the "bottom" of the travel on the pedal is not as firm, so your feedback on whether you have the brake pressed hard enough is not as distinct as it is in other cars. Doesn't happen in my FJ or my old Landcruiser.

This is common on several Lexus/Toyota 4WD vehicles. You will experience it more when the engine is cold and idling faster. When the vehicle is up to temp and idling and operating temp (550 rpm) it is barely noticeable. The reason for this design was intended for better low speed off-road braking/use.

my 94 and 01 4runners didn't so if it is, it's a new Toyota thing.
I love my 01, once it comes to a rest it doesn't go anywhere. I can even take the foot off the brake. It's like it's purring. I was going to get rid of it but I think I actually like driving it better than my gx so I kept it for weekend errands. And so my gx doesn't turn into a mom car with the 4 year old. Sorry, I digress. I just wish they hadn't changed whatever they changed in this regard.
eta: I just realized my old 4runners were not 4WD so maybe as per a pp it's a 4WD Toyota thing?
