Pretty easy to remove and replace the clips I found. Maybe Lexus will make up their mind in 2012 - the Sewell OEM all-weathers have no holes on the passenger side either, but the OEM standard carpet mats I got from the dealer have matching holes on both driver and passenger side; sheesh!

Default 2014 GX460 OEM mats vs Weathertech

Does anyone know if the 2013 GX 460 weathertech digitalfit mats will fit the 2014? The weathertech site does not have 2014 digital fit mats listed yet.

In general, does anyone thing the weathertech mats are any better than the OEM mats?

thanks

The Weathertech mats usually will turn up at the edges to help hold material on the mat a little better however the Lexus all-weather mats usually lay down and fit better. I got Weathertech ones for the front of one of my LXs earlier this year as my foot had worn a hole in the Lexus ones and due to that whole stuck accelerator pedal issue of 2009/2010 they were no longer available. They're probably better suited for that truck anyways but I still like the way the Lexus fit better and would have gotten those if available.

I highly doubt the refresh of '14 on the GX has changed the design of the floor. Lexus/Toyota usually give a facia-lift and other little goodies mid-way through a trucks generation. I have the Lexus all-weather mats in my GX and think they fit very well however if you're planning on tracking mud and grime in a lot I might consider the weathertechs.

The 2014 Lexus accessories page shows a new design for the GX front mats compared to my '13 ones and I kind of wish I had gotten the Lexus cargo mat instead of the weathertech one as it will still not lay down perfectly flat like the OEMs do.

I don't have a GX, but I do have direct experience with the OEM all weather mats vs Weathertech.

The Weathertech mats are MUCH nicer. Lexus used to have great all-weather mats, I had them on my '03 ES. Very similar in thickness and quality to the Weathertech mats.

Fast forward to 2010, and I ordered a set of Weathertech mats for my 2010 ES because they came in tan. Very happy, high quality mats, very similar to the OEM ones I had in my '03 ES.

Fast froward to 2013, I went to order Weathertech mats for my new GS. They had custom fronts, but not custom rears and I didn't want to "trim and fit", so I ordered the new OEM mats. They suck, thin, no lip, little protection since water can just roll off. Apparently they were redesigned to be thinner because of the unintended acceleration issue.

So, I would get the Weathertech mats. My assumption is the floorpan is the same from 2013-2014.

The floorpan is the same as on the 2010-2013 GX 460. My 2014 came with both carpeted mats and Lexus all weather mats. I have the Lexus all weather mats in my 2014, but kept my Weathertech mats from my 2010 just in case I want to switch. The factory all weather mats lock in place, but I never had a problem with the Weathertech mats not staying in place in my 2010.
I also have the Weathertech cargo liner that I took out of my 2010.

I've ordered a full set (front, rear and cargo) digitalfit mats and it should arrive next week. I have OEM all weather mats and the most disappointing fact is they don't go up high enough at the edges so they don't protect all that well. I also like that a second row Weathertech mat is a single piece covering the entire row.

Yes, great info, thanks for letting me know the weathertechs will fit.

I have a sepia interior, so I'm not sure whether I should get the black or tan weathertechs. Anyone have feedback on what color I should get?

I looked online and it looks like there are "brown" OEM all weather mats that I assume were made for the sepia interiors.

Received the mats this morning and installed them -- they're great! OEM all weather mats look like junk compared to them.

The other thing about the tan mats is, although they match the Parchment/Ecru interiors they do get dirty, they get black scuffs on them from your feet. Even with an Ecru interior I would probably get the black having had the tan mats previously.

I bought on fleebay the Premium Genuine LEXUS GX460 Carpet Floor Mats 4pc Set Black instead of standard mats.
Premium Carpet Floor Mats contain almost 4 times the amount of carpet fibers than the average floor mat
and they come with brushed aluminum Lexus badge that is stain- and corrosion-resistant.
