I looked at mine when I washed and waxed it the other day. I also have some rust under mine as well. Not as bad as the pictures in this thread...

At the time, I hadn't looked under my vehicle. I took a closer look under my vehicle when I washed and waxed it and found the rust. Next time I go to the dealer, I will ask about it.

That may have been a good option when the vehicle was new and before any rust started, but it would be a a bad option now. Once any form of rust or corrosion starts it needs to be removed and the source of the problem (water, salt and chemicals) solved, but to seal the underside of the vehicle with rubber and trap the problem against the metal ... well, somebody is certainly stupid for suggesting that, but it is NOT you.

P.S. Undercoating vehicles used to be almost a necessity and I had a new 1980 Dodge van completely sealed by 'Ziebart'. That required removing every piece of trim, the seats and the carpeting that wasn't clued to the floor, then drilling access holes in the pillars and other parts of the frame to inject their sealant. The van dripped sealant for days, even after re-assembly, but many years later when we sold it there still wasn't a trace of rust.

Hard to imagine needing to do that now ... much less me actually doing it!

I am as pissed as the OP

I got my Lexus GX460 2011 5 months ago and only 2700 miles on it. I am already getting those damn rust on the axis.

This is really unacceptable.

Here is the picture of the damn rusts.

Anyone know any easy fix to this small rusts?

This will be my last Lexus.

Yeah, what the hell is happening to Lexus quality?
I'm waiting for 2012 LX and will try to make a "switch"
But if LX develops any problems that's it, I will never go back to them again.

Given the potential rust problem, shall I rubber coat the underside, just in case?

I'm not convinced there is a potential rust problem, but coating the underside of the vehicle is likely to create the problem! Unless the vehicle is new, unrusted and bone dry, a rubber coating will hold moisture in contact with the metal frame. That could cause more problems than it prevents.

Is the rust really that big of an issue? I looked at the pics above and is there any concern for those parts rusting?
