PVD is a new finishing teqnique for wheels -- well, not new, but it's not chrome plating.

Supposedly a superior finish for wear over time than chrome. Guaranteed to not pit, peel, etc for 5 years, 100k miles.

I've been exchanging emails with US Wheel exchange via eBay on a set.

Anyone use them?

The Claret Mica Premium is screamin' for a little more shiney stuff on the wheels. They seem to be priced right for their exchange program.

Thoughts?

Yes, I purchased a set from Marcus at US Wheel Exchange. I purchased them direct from them and not through E-Bay. They look great and Marcus was easy to deal with. I have the triple chrome wheels on my LS 460, but my dealer told me about the new process and said it's much better. I purchased them direct and saved a lot of money over what my dealer was going to charge me.

They offer black chrome. The regular chrome is a little to flashy, but black seems to be nice, at least on some pictures they have on ebay.

I'm sticking with the PVD chrome on the red GX. it'll be a nice touch with the other chrome on the Premium model.


No doubt black chrome would look stunning.

Chrome wheels are a little bling, the black chrome may be just right. I would have to see them in person (or good pics on the GX) to decide.

Here are pictures. I do like the black chrome much better than regular chrome. Concern is the center cap logo. Just silver logo without the silver backing and it is perfect.

Anyone with good photoshop skills who can mount those on Peral Knight GX?

Regular Chrome for comparison (It seems to be 2009 4runner Limited or Thundra) but good for contrast

Those pictures against the blue background do not do justice to the wheels.

Here is a photo that NoNameDFW posted on the roll call of Knights Armor Pearl and chrome wheels.

I don't think any member has posted a photo of the black chrome on the GX 460.
