Waag, Westin, Aries... all make varius Brush Guards for vehicles.

Would folks be interested in a brush guard for their GX460 if one was available?

Here's an example of a WAAG guard on an RX.

There are only two bull bars available for the GX460 (Westin/Broadfeet). As soon as I get my GX I will probably get the Broadfeet. They are located in Brooklyn and I will go and see it in person before buying (approx $300). I do not like the Westin (will not buy chrome).

I had a WAAG before on my 4runner. Very easy to install, but I have noticed corrosion in places (maybe from rock chips). Have not seen one yet, that I really like. Maybe JAOS will come up with one soon. Heard good things about the brand.

Emailed WAAG and they have no plans or intentions on building a unit for a GX470.

The GX is not going to get much aftermarket attention. The only good thing is it shares a lot with the 4Runner. We probably wouldn't even have floor mats if it was not for the 4Runner.

Maybe Broadfeet would make a grill guard for the GX? They, did for the 470 model.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from powder coated accessories, they will rust in a couple years. ONLY STAINLESS (replace the hardware with stainless also).

I'm seriously considering just getting a clearbra (instead of a guard). I now think it is money better spent. I’ve come to the conclusion that a guard is only good for off-roading. I have a Ventureshield on my IS and it has been great (four years). I even brushed a concrete planter and there is not on mark or chip on my front end.

agreed that stainless is a great way to go. Also agree that all hardware should be stainless.

However, a good powdercoat holds up very well here in the Pacific Northwest. Maybe we just have a mild climate or something -- but rust on powdercoat isn't much of an issue for us here.

I powdercoat all kinds of stuff with a cheap gun I picked up at harbor freight. I have things 5 years later - stored outside - are just fine.

Stainless is a very nice way to go though as well.

That's why they have hill descent controls, adjustable air suspensions, and other advanced traction features?

My family lives on a farm. My extended family has 100s of acres of orchards. I absolutely will be driving through fields, orchards, and around areas where a brush guard might come in handy.

And yes, the GX will be just as comfortable commuting to the office, out to a nice dinner, and hauling all my crap to the boat.

He's talking about the RX, not the GX. I saw a brush gurard at the dealer on an RX and it did look pretty silly. I'm driving an RX right now while my LS 460 is in for the valve spring campaign.
