Seat Belt Question or Problems
#2
Yeah, I had mine disabled at the dealership. It was done with a lap top computer at the dealership. I always wear my seatbelt, but had it disabled and did the same in my LS 460

Luke,
Can you confirm that per the owners manual. I will be picking up a 2011 in about 2 weeks and that is one feature that I want disabled. One minute is not bad, if true.

Here is the description from the owner's manual:
Driver’s and front passenger’s seat belt reminder buzzer:
The driver’s and front passenger’s seat belts reminder buzzer sounds to alert
the driver and front passenger that his/her seat belt is not fastened. Once the
“ENGINE START STOP” switch is turned to IGNITION ON mode, the buzzer
sounds for 4 to 8 seconds. If the vehicle reaches a speed of 12 mph (20 km/h),
the buzzer sounds intermittently for 10 seconds. Then, if the seat belt is still
unfastened, the buzzer will sound in a different tone for 20 more seconds.
If you reach the last 20 seconds, it gets really annoying.
This seems to mostly be a problem if you stop for mail and then have to go down a long driveway.

The GX will be my wife's car. She is a crossing gaurd for the school system. While waiting for the kids to arrive, she sits for some time in the vehilce with the A/C or heat running. The beeping would drive her nuts during this time.

Thanks,
Yes we do wear our seatbelts. Wifey also has some acreage in N. Texas that we drive on from gate to gate. Real pain to buckle up and unbucle for the gates. There is not any other traffic on her private roads but us. Max speed is about 15 MPH.
Dealer has agreed to turn them off at no cost.

disabling seatbelt chime?
I've searched this forum and looked in the manual and I can't find the procure to disable the seatbelt chime for my 2012 GX460. I did read and perform the procedure listed for other Lexus vehicles, but this doesn't seem to be the right method...
Anybody know how to do this?
Thanks!
