I'm almost a new dad here trying to make sure I have the car seat installed correctly. I was expecting to find that the LATCH system was metal hooks, but instead it appears to be thick black "wires". Can anyone confirm that's correct?

I looked for the latch anchors and I found that you needed to lift up a section of the seat in the crease that is held down by velco. There are two small cuts in the seat underliner and if you stick your fingers into the hole you will find the anchors.
