Front headlight HI LO suggestions.
This is another topic all kinds of posts and opinions are made throughout the club. So here it goes!!!!! When converting the headlights, what have you guys done? LED HID Halogen? What do you recommend, prices and how good are the products? I want to do something with my front headlights BUT hi and low beam. Also the fog lamps. Looking at the headlight, it appears to have the hi, lo, turn signal and a couple other bulbs. I have seen several hi lo combos, but dont know which to look into. Who has done this? Recommendations? I have seen posts with people not so thrilled with conversions and going back to halogens. I would like a bit brighter light, no colors! Not my thing. What do you guys recommend? Any and all replies will be appreciated!

HID conversion on low beam, 4300-4700K color for best useable light output, best place to spend money on lighting upgrades IMO. High beam output is fine with the improved low beams, and fogs are for foggy conditions, they aren't driving lights.

I agree with Ian. Don't bother with the high beams. Keep the halogen bulbs for those they work just fine. A hid kit will give you slightly better output than led. Led is as bright as hid it just doesn't project the light as far. I run 6000k for my headlights. They have a slight hint of blue to them. 4300k will be closer to white. I also run 3000k hid lights in my fogs but that is just because I was going for a really bright yellow. Sounds like that is not the look you are going for. I would start with the low beams first and see if you are happy with the results. You may want to then install led bulbs in the fogs to match the colour of the headlights.

I dont mind a slight color change, I dont want to offend the drivers coming at me. I think we all have seen the really bright ones that probably were super cheap. The ones you have look good! What kind are they? I know nothing about this stuff, so thanks guys! Is it a kit with ballasts? Or a HID bulb you change out? Thank you

You want the Extreme kit and they come with everything you need PNP setup, with the relays you need! I have tried most all his bulbs Phillips 4300K / 5K / 6K ---- Ill tell you straight up if you want the nicest whitest light get the 5K, they simply ROCK! I run those in my Low beams and my Fogs!!

Yup, xenondepot is the only place I shop for HID's as I have put in the Lows in my 04 GX but I went with the Xtreme 4300 stock and love them. I also used the same HID kit for my 2006 GS300's fog lights for a perfect match of low and fogs. The gents at xenondepot are second to none and their products are top notch not to mention the easiest to install. I had a ballast burn out and they sent me one out immediately after they walked me through troubleshooting the problem.
