So wait, looking at those pictures it would appear the ladder puts all the weight climbing onto the door hinge and latch? Do they say anything about it holding up to certain weights? This seems likely to cause damage to me? Looks awesome though, I'd love one if it holds up.
The ladder is meant to be climbed on when the door is closed, which would provide plenty of support. I wouldnt worry about the load on these ladders, the Gobi ladder on my friends 3rd gen is incredibly sturdy.
So that's actually my GX. I was the prototype vehicle. I haven't run the rack through its full paces yet but it has been great so far. Here are a few pictures from a quick mountain bike trip out in Moab, UT. They were taken on Shafer Canyon Road and White Rim Road.
