Auto repair shop, where we get routine maintenance done on our 2007 Lexus GX7470 done, says the left front strut is leaking. Vehicle is in excellent condition with only 115k miles and we are the 2nd owner. Have all maintenance records on this car. What would cause the leaking? And, is this repair shop telling me a legitimate concern or just pulling my leg? Thanks.

maybe you could take a picture and post it? It's possible it is leaking, however, it also quite possible they are strumming up business. In either case, if you budget allows, you won't regret getting new struts, I'm sure they will freshen up your ride.

I have similar year and abt 90k miles and when I took it in last time for the service dealer reported one the rear shocks were leaking. Took it to a friend for inspection found out both were actually leaking pretty bad. Ordered the 4Runner Toyota shocks for 45$ each and it's been very smooth since.
