Default My new BFD wheel with Nitto Terra Grappler G2

I finally bought a set of terra grappler g2 for my bfd wheel that was sitting in the garage for awhile. Purchased and installed the tires from Discount Tire. Price per tire, $170 plus mounting and balancing. They price matched the tires from tirecrawler.com. Size; 265/65/18, a slight up size from stock. No rubbing at all at full turn.
The only issue I have is im having a vibration above 60mph. Has anyone experienced this problem with terra grapplers? I'm taking it back tomorrow and see what they can do about it.

I have the same wheels, the same tires (but bigger), and no vibration. Mine are 285/60/18

The second pic from the bottom shows wheel weights right in the center of the barrel. Not sure how they can properly balance a wheel that way, there needs to be weight on the inner and outer barrel, depending on how the balancer is set up.

Thank you, I'll address that to them tomorrow when i go back.

Yeah i'll be honest, your gx inspired me to get the same wheel...lol. I was leaning towards the cooper at3 or g2, decided to go with a bit more aggresive sidewall.

They were VERY quiet at first. They have a little less than 10k on them now and make noise on the highway over 60mph or so. They've been rotated once.

If you can't get it sorted out with traditional weights, you may have to try some beads and see how that goes.

Discount tire rebalanced it and ride much better now. There's a slight vibration once it reach to 65mph and disappears at 70mph. I think I can live with that. Should i bring it back again and have it check? Or should I go to another shop to get it rebalance again. Another thing too is I still have to get an alignment but i want to sort out this vibration first before doing it.

Wheel balance won't affect alignment, so feel free to do it whenever you want. Your call on taking it back, I know I probably would, but every time they take them off the truck and throw them on the balancer is another chance they have to scratch them. Luckily, I balanced mine myself and can be as picky as I want.

You've got a problem with your weights. I had the same tires, and chased around issues for a while before I just resigned myself to dealing with it. You certainly shouldn't have to deal with it, but I got super tired of ragging on the shop about how their balancing was off. They balked because they said I could've caused it by hitting curbs and debris. I chalked it up to a bad shop, and no more time to spend on it. I'm on the cusp of buying tires again, and I'm passing on the TGs this go around.

Road force balances are great and all, but you can still have a vibration after using one. They give you instructions on where to place the tires on the truck to cause the least amount of vibration, or least amount of pull, not eliminate it completely if a regular balancer can't do the trick. If it were me, I'd seriously have them throw balance beads in them and forget about it.

So i went to another discount tire and had them check out the vibration. They told me that all 4 wheels were off balance. They stripped all the weights and rebalance it again and put new ones. Vibration is now gone, the difference is like night and day. Finnally i get to enjoy driving my GX again.

Good to hear they're all sorted out. BTW, what's the wheel width and offsets?
