Default Horn is not working and the location of the horn relay

i have a 2004 GX470. The horn is not working. Followed some instructions to check the horn fuse and relay. Found the fuse in the the engine compartment fuse box and its fine, but I couldn't find where the horn relay in the box. Any suggestions for how to trouble shoot the horn and where to find the horn relay?

searched online and I know the horn relay part number is Part #: 90080-87010 but don't know its location.

Thanks!

The location in the box is molded into the cover. You just need to match it up.

Have you checked that 12v is not present at the horn when an assistant pushes on the airbag cover?
Also - all the steering wheel radio controls work?

Thanks, Chip H. All the radio controls on the steering wheel works perfectly. I did check the inside of the fuse cover but could not find the location that matches up "horn relay". I did find the 10a fuse for "horn" (and it's good). I attached a pitctue of the fuse cover.

I don't have a wiring diagram but you can sign up for Toyota Techstream for as little as $15 for a two-day subscription and do screen-captures.

Thank you again, Chip H. What wiring digrams should I be looking for from the Toyota techstream?

BTW, I did some other tests: when I pushed the red alarm button on the remote, the alarm/horn did not work (only a beep); but when I tried to open the door from inside (after rolling down the window and locking the doors), the alarm/horn went off. I also listened closely to the engine compartment fuse box, and did not hear any clicks when the horn button on the steering wheel was depressed.

Next step before spending the money on techstream would be to use a voltmeter at the horn connector. Disconnect the horn, have an assistant push the airbag to sound the horn, see if you read 12v+ No voltage - then continue looking for the relay. If you see voltage, then the horn itself is bad.

Did the test and found no voltage at the horn. So, it's probably the horn relay. But where is it located in the picture?

What does the non-operation of the radio controls indicate? I have a 2005 LS430.

Thanksl

Sorry - no clue. This is the GX470 forum. Try asking in the LS430 forum.
