Default 05 gx470 a/c cycling

Hi!
A/c wasn't as cold as I remembered this year. I added just a little of some old frion i had and no difference. Bought a new can w gauge, which showed below range. Filled to range and compressor/fan would cycle on for 3 seconds and off for 3 seconds. Thinking the Guage was at fault, I took out some Frion and it worked. After about 20 minutes of driving it would start cycling on/off but for longer periods...the vent temp would get warm for several minutes and the come back to a decent temp for a few minutes. Before i go diving into issues (checking sensors, flushing frion) I hoped someone had seen this problem and knew how to fixed it.

Thank You!

Sounds like you possibly need to let some more of the R134a gas out. Still might be over charged.

Some cycling is normal, so that the expansion valve, etc. don't ice up. But I agree - double check the pressures.

You need to check pressure on both the hi and low side for a correct reading... and the gauges on the store bought can's are a close or not guess.
