Default Would you buy this GX?

I ran across this local seller in my neighborhood.

2004 GX470
206k miles
grey w tan interior
$7,000

Details:
Timing belt/ water pump kit - replaced in the last 5000 miles.
Rear suspension air bags - replaced in the last 5000 miles.
Rack and pinion steering unit - replaced in the last 5000 miles
He has owned this vehicle for 7 years and bought it with 40k miles.
It was his wife's car and he has just bought her an Avalon as she wanted something smaller since kids are in college.

It has the towing package which is important for me.
It has NAV which wasnt desired but not a big deal either way.
It does not have the rear seat entertainment system - nothing an iPad cant solve for my munchkin.

Interior looks very good - not great but for 12 years and 200k+ its in good condition.

A couple of nicks in the paint and a scrape on the drivers rear corner that looks like it could possibly buff out. Wheels have a few nicks on them as well.

Has two small barely noticeable in the dash around the nav/stereo.
,
I drove it. It drove well, all seems tight. No clunks or noises.

AC is very cold. Oil changed every 3000 miles with "straight synthetic".

Tires are Goodyear with approximately 50% wear remaining.

I was originally looking for a 2006-2007 with 130k-150k with hitch and RSES w/o NAV ...willing to spend $15,000....in white.

While it's not exactly what I wanted, I can get into it for 45% of the cost. And I wont need to finance it.

Thoughts?

Hard to say without seeing it... but at $7k and all the recent service history, you are not going to find anything worth buying much cheaper, so sounds like a really good deal assuming you are OK with it's condition.

I just paid cash for a 2006 to avoid a car payment as well... which is always a plus in case any unforeseen maintenance arises.

What's hurting the value of that 2004 is the mileage. Which as we've seen, as long as the maintenance has been done (ask to see the service records), doesn't really matter on the GX.

Assuming it doesn't have the transfer case leak, I'd jump on that deal.

Not having to finance it would probably make the deal for me but id want 4k sitting in the bank or a credit card with enough $$$ to fix something major. You also are going to deal with a few more things breaking or needing service.
