Running board lights no workie
In preparation to change out my bulbs to LED, I notice that my running board lights no longer work. Fuse looks good and no other lights are out. Had some hellacious rains in my area last month and don't know if that may be the cause as I drove thru some high water. Last I remember the lights worked. Is there a simple way to test to see if I just shorted out the bulbs in the high water or if something more is wrong?

Check Cables
There is a cable/s which connects from underneath somewhere middle of the running board. It gets loose or snapped sometimes. I have repaired mine twice.
Thanks,

I just crawled from under the truck and found the culprit. As Sheik stated above, the wires on the drivers side came out of the connector. Passenger side are fine. Now to do the repair. How did you do yours, Sheik?

Just splice the wire from the corners and leave the car in ACC and door open so when you connect the wire the light will come one. Have someone look from outside that when you connect they light up and used electric tape to tape it there. In this case I had my little one looking at those lights. Tape it tight so they don't come off again when you go through the puddle next time.

Had some extra time today so I decided to tackle this problem. I stared at it for awhile and came up with a plan. I pulled the connector and disassembled it. Picked up a soldering iron at HD and found some scrap wire that was close to the same gauge. Soldered the wire to the metal clips that were inside the connector and reassembled the connector. Plugged it in and attached the ends to the original wires, opened the door and Success!! Lights all around. Taped it all up. Looks almost factory, I must say.
