Adaptive Suspension question
Im looking to replace all four shocks on an 05 GX and have been shopping around. Do the OEM front shocks have active damping? All the photos just show a regular looking shock in the front with no electronic connector. The rears obviously have the connection. I did see 03 and 04 front shocks look different and did have electonic connectors.
Also, how much of a difference should I be noticing between comfort and sport? I do not notice much change if any. The shocks are not blown or bouncy, just leaking some. She still rides smooth but not sure if the electronic part is working....

Fronts are adaptive. I can't imagine spending that type of money for the small change it offers. After reading thread after thread about how horrible things like Bilstein are I was scared of any shock choice. In the end I got the 5100's Before I had Bilstein HD on my Tundra and they felt great. I was so surprised that the Bilstein are actually comfortable on the Lexus as well with all the reviews on forums. Unless you really want to spend 450 a piece I would look at the normal Bilstein, KYB, Or similar. Clearly the Lexus ones are good quality and smooth and last. But at 4 times the price of the Bilstein. I am becoming convinced the people who say the Bilstein are rough are people with adjustable perches who use the oem springs and add a ton of preload to get a higher ride. That will ruin the ride. But the same shock with no preload on my truck is very smooth and very nice.
