Default Ticking noise coming from my glove box.

I have a ticking noise that sounds like it is coming from my glove box when the A/C or Heater is on. I think its the servo motor but not sure. I think it just started. Does anyone know how difficult this would be to fix?

Recirculate servo motor, try switching between recir and flow through and see if click goes away.

I tried that and it didn't work. It seems to go with the speed of the blower. Sounds a little like a card stuck in bicycle spokes.

Probably have debris stuck in your blower motor.

Change cabin filter, see if stuff, leaves, twig are in there?

The servo motors sometimes will cycle and click if the ambient temperature and cabin temperature are similar enough. Some people claimed to be able to remove the linkages to servos and re-lubricate them, as well as the plastic gears. My experience on my old 4Runner was that you needed to remove half of the dash assembly to get to the bolts/screws to remove them. I was able to remove one and lube it up and the clicking seemed to disappear.

I presume it only happens in the first few minutes after the truck is started?

Thanks guys I will try these suggestions. And the clicking is constant doesn't matter if it is hot or cold. Its annoying and I would love to get this fixed before summer vacation.

Any chance it's from the CD changer if you have one?

I will check that also but I am not sure that would be the issue. I never use it but still worth checking into.

Was there ever a conclusion of the ticking? My 08 started a ticking sound from the glove box area of the dash as well and it's driving me nuts (which isn't a long drive). I'm hoping it's an easy fix or I'm playing the music loud!

Have you checked to see if it goes away when you switch from RECIR to flow through?

Park outside in the sun, then run the A/C diagnostics. There are instructions here, just do a search.
