Finding a Good GX at a good dealer.
What a PITA.
Been lied to by a Acura Dealer "Those boots aren't leaking! Then find out it was tagged in service.
Huge Pressure by a Toyota Dealer, "We won't make any money under 25K. They supposedly went to get the truck just for me. But the price was too high. Turned it down. Now a month later the same truck is 30 miles away for 2K less. Better half doesn't like the cracked up clear bra. I am worried about it ruining the paint if I take it off.
CEL and all other warning lights come on while driving a GX yesterday. Pulled the code. Catalytic converter not working in perimeters. I forget the exact language. They said it's was just "cold and the car was not driven much recently"
This is such a HUGE PITA I am doubting I will find one soon.
Just venting.

I was looking for one about a year and a half ago and finally found a good one at Kuni Lexus in Greenwood Village.
The last place I wanted to get one from was a dealer though... but I just couldn't find a good one private party, and I didn't have time to wait around for one to pop up.
Dealers suck...

I have been to Kuni. I think with the recent snow people are either keeping the ones they have and snatching up the ones available. Bad timing to add a baby and need a bigger vehicle. I would like to find one from them or another Lexus. Dealers are a PITA it seems.

Usually right after you buy, you'll see one that is the color you wanted at a better price. I got lucky and found a 1 owner that was in nice condition form the original owner, but wasn't really a color I wanted (black). Don't get me wrong I love the look of black, but hate trying to keep it clean is a PITA, especially when my driveway is a half mile of dirt. I watched and like I said found a silver about a week after with less miles, a year newer, and the same price - always happens

I purchased from a one owner female. So it had been babied its whole life but it has some exterior flaws from poor parking skills lol. It just comes with the territory. Odds are you will compromise somewhere and I did visually, mechanically its in impeccable shape.
Stay patient or take a trip out here to socal, the vehicles here are generally in nicer shape.

Keep looking. Before last thanksgiving, we picked one up in great condition from a Lexus dealer. $16K for a 2004 which takes regular gas, 75k miles, fully optioned, one owner, breaks/rotors/radiator done before put on sale. It took me 6 months to find it. What I learned was that a good one usually get snatched up in just a couple days.

2nd one has a cracked up dash and a cracked and horribly looking clear bra. The dash will likely get replaced by the Dealer and the clear bra will be a HUGE PITA to remove and may (may not) have damage on the paint once removed. Deciding if that is worth the trouble and risk. It's the same truck the Toyota dealer tried to sell me for 2K more with "no room to sell it for less".

I got lucky and found the exact truck I was looking for at a small used car lot less than 2 miles from my house. Turns out it was bought at auction to be the dealership owners wife's car to drive in the winter (or so he says) and the Carfax purchase date and mileage addition sort of confirmed it. It was a one owner with all the maintenance records and a price I didn't even bother negotiating on. I'm one of the few who got lucky I guess. The truck has 9 pages of maintenance history on mylexus and was almost spotless.

Murphys law rules! lol- I just picked up a 2004 gx loaded with everything except kdss. $13k private party. woman owned it, so in pretty good shape. Needs a little tlc, but Im happy with the price I paid. I can spend a little and get it cleaned up. btw: I looked for about 2yrs and passed up a black one that was darn near perfect, but no black for me. The second one was at a dealer for 18k with 80k miles and they sold that one quick. Original owner had the car pinstripped. Looked real nice.
