Default 1" Lift??? Dont want to give up too much ride quality.

Is there anyone that makes a .5" spacer or 1" lift for the front of a GX? I dont want to sacrifice much ride quality because i transport clients but I am an avid outdoor enthusiast and could use a little more clearance. I was thinking a 1" lift in the front and trick the bags 1" in the rear along with 265/70r17's would beef up the truck a nice little bit but not sacrifice much on the road.

I have found a 1" spacer but I know it compounds in height and will leave 1.7-2" of lift which I believe may sacrifice too much ride quality or am I wrong there?

265/70/17's will fit without a lift. You will likely need to trim a little plastic in the wheel wells depending on your tire choice.

If you are concerned about the ride leave the air bags alone.

yep... 265/70R17s fit perfect on stock. I didn't have to trim anything at all.

Wow a little bigger more aggressive tire makes a pretty big difference.

I am still interested if there is an option to lift it just a small amount though. I know the rear can be done very easily. Maybe ill just start by going up .5" in the rear and I can always make an easy adjustment from there.

There are 1/2" spacers available from toyotec. I have them on my truck along with old man emu springs for a total lift somewhere around 3"-3.5" total. They are not a preload spacer. Instead they mount between the shock assembly and the truck body. Mine are anodized red if you look closely in the picture.

A 1/2" lift will likely be an imperceptible difference though. I would just leave it alone or go with a taller lift and 285's.

You have several options. Here they are cheapest to most expensive.

1. Buy this. http://www.polyperformance.com/ToyTe...FQoNaQodSTcOeg
2. Buy some FJ cruiser front springs (off of an fj or new Moogs) these will net you about an 1" lift in the front. pair these with some bilstein 4600 shocks to save the ride.
3. Buy this toytec spring set and pair with bilstein 4600 for decent ride with real adjustability.

If say you decided to purchase the 1/2 spacers for the front, would that solve the rubbing issue on the 265/70/r17's? For example Duratrac's are known to be a bit more squared off vs the Grabber AT2's?

No trim required at that point.

The trimming is by no means major surgery. I can't remember exactly now how much, if any I needed to trim when I had 265 70 17's. That was a couple years ago. This is what my running board currently looks like to clear a 285 70 17.

How is the ride compared to stock with those front springs?

Stiffer than stock. But I am using Bilstein 5100s. I like it. Pretty responsive. The handle is **** right now bc I need all new ball joints, endlinks, etc... but when it was new it was nice.

For my 265/70/17 Duratracs I just had to heat up the front of the wheel well and push it in.. takes all of 15 minutes for both sides.

Spacers are frowned upon by many people, but in some circumstances they are a good option. I think if you just want something cheap and simple to get a little lift without affecting the ride, then a spacer makes sense.
We're did you find it?

How thick was your spacer like 3/4"? I think that is just a tad too much for me.

I may go with a 3/8" spacer or 1/2" if i can find one and try to net 3/4-1" of lift in the front. Since I am doing the brakes and she needs an alignment anyways its really a no brainer. The rig will not get beat on offroad, I have atv's for that. A little more height and some bigger tires would really balance it out nicely I think without too much compromise.

Did the link to the 1/2" toytec spacer I posted not work?
