Default Water too Deep

Does anyone have an estimation of how deep water can be to safely pass in a GX?

Hmm. I don't know if the GX has remote transmission/differential breathers. But I would think that you could drive up to the wheel hubs if you weren't going too fast. If you were willing to do fluid changes afterwards you could probably go deeper, but then you'd be up against the height of the air intake.

There are people who have snorkles on theirs, so they can go quite deep.

As always - don't drive into flooded roads. Turn around, don't drown.
There was a lady here in Austin a few years ago who drove around a police car into a flooded road and was swept away.

Yeah, what kind of water are we talking about?

We get street flooding here in New Orleans all the time. Limiting factor is the height of your air intake, and whether or not you mind if the interior gets wet

There's more to it than just water depth. As you drive, you'll have a bow wave. And depending on where that lands on the vehicle, that's the height to worry about.

This is the real answer, if you're willing to go that deep is another issue, lol. On gas motors there's also your ignition system to be concerned with, there's some stuff that doesn't work so good if it gets wet.

I was thinking about the alternator, myself. It can probably tolerate a short immersion, as it has the cooling openings to drain water out. You'll get a charging-system light on the dash, either because of the water inside or because the belt starts slipping.

I could be wrong, I remember somewhere in the user manual mentions 50 cm (20 inches) deep.

Just found this:

If you drive through deep water over about 500 mm
(20 in.) in depth, put the vehicle height in the HI (High)
mode with the active height select switch and then
turn off the active height control suspension by
pushing the height control switch. Drive your vehicle
at 30 km/h (19 mph) or lower speed.

I've done roughly 3 feet of water doing creek crossings out west with no issues.
