I've been searching this whole Bilstein 5100 issue for a few days now between here, t4r, and ih8mud. My rear has failed (stuck in the highest position) and my front OEM shocks are worn.

I will most likely go with Bilstein 5100s but I just have a simple question regarding the rear - do I need the Metal Tech or Strutmasters conversion kits to be able to install the 5100s?

I was thinking of either 1. getting the SM conversion kit (comes with rear shocks and Eibach springs) and then maybe front 5100s w/ my current springs. I know this won't get me any lift in the rear. Or 2. maybe I should just get 5100s all around and maybe Toytec springs so the whole truck is lifted - would I still need the MT or SM kits?

Anyone with this knowledge please let me know!

Thanks

Thanks! Ended up ordering the DIY Metal Tech kit, separately ordering the spring seat assemblies, Bilstein 5100s all around, front Eibach/Toytecs, and rear Toytec Superflexes.

Lot more reasonably priced that all OEM air suspension parts.

Cool! Let us know how it goes. A lot of us still need to do this and would appreciate your experience.

Lazytik did you do the project yet?
Im in search of front and rear shocks for my 2004 GX.
Front springs as well. The rears i used the Arnott Convertion Kit back in 2012 0r 13 with no issues. I don't use any of the electronics hight and all that. Straight forward Shocks and Springs.
Do you any part numbers? Thank you

[QUOTE=BlackCat81;9244821]They're great, no complaints at all. If I knew how well I'd like them I would've replaced the air bags with springs before the compressor went bad. Even pulling roughly 1,000lbs they don't sag much.

if you get a moment, can you measure the center of the front wheel hub to the wheel well and then ground to wheel well.
