Default 4Runner springs

Just kidding. I plan to convert to a more conventional suspension when the time comes, and I appreciate you sharing your experience with the 4Runner coils. I have researched this previously and probably would have done the 4R coils too - so you saved me some headaches.
I did the conversion a year ago with absolutely no issues. I used MOOG 81045. I also purchased a set of used rubber insulators for inside the springs with a bump stop on it. I have loaded up my truck with the 3rd row as well and never bottomed out. The other thing I added was a 2" rancho spacer because the truck sat about 2" lower than the normal height setting. It sits perfect now.

I just remeasured after giving them some time to settle. It's even on both sides at 22.5" now.

How do you like the ride with the fj rear springs? I am considering dropping mine back down some and am thinking of going with fj springs. Thanks.

They're great, no complaints at all. If I knew how well I'd like them I would've replaced the air bags with springs before the compressor went bad. Even pulling roughly 1,000lbs they don't sag much.

They sold this truck in other parts of the world as the Land Cruiser Prado, most of them being stripped down work trucks with convential coil springs. I know sourcing parts might be tricky, but that would be the easiest way to get rid of the air bag setup and maintain OEM ride/handling/load carrying capabilities.

No, mines a fuel injected Yamaha Raptor 700R. It's a quite a bit faster in a straight line, but on a track it's got nothing on an MX quad like an LTR. My best friend rides a modded LTR450 and it's a lot of fun. I prefer the low end grunt the Raptor has. The 450 needs to rev to make power.

Did you get new factory fj springs or find used ones? If you purchased new ones where did you get them?

I ordered new ones from Oreilly auto parts for a 2010 trail team edition FJ. they are made in America and were $75 plus shipping.

No, it wasn't Moog. I can't remember what the brand was but I know it wasn't Moog. I tried searching the site for a part number but can't find them now.

I was reading about the moog ones not sitting right on the bottom mount, dont like the thought of that so will probably look for oem or other aftermarket ones. Is there something special about the trail edition springs, or just got them anyways.

I honestly don't know. My rationale was that the trail team edition might be a little taller than your run of the mill FJ, so I got those. I had no issues with mine sitting incorrectly.
