Default adding hitch and nav to 2004

I am interested in a 2004 and wanted to know if I add the curt hitch .. Or maybe oem one
Has the curves cover and not notched or flat does that mean it should be made after 5/2004 and could use the hitch that is tubular? Not sure if the curt version matter for any of these

Also I heard they may be prewired for towing, how to look for besides the trans cooler, if they don't have this then it seems too much work.. and I should stay away?

Also doesn't have nav, so I wanted to know if it is harder to add aftermarket screen to non nav than one with factory nav?

It seems like this is a base trim do you know in 2004 what feature might be missing from this base model That I am "missing out" on?

Found a pic of the actual car under bumper built 9/04
Does it look normal. I think I see the towing wiring box there.. was the hitch port installed option? But it looks like it's ready for one.

If you have the extra cooler near the horns, then all you need is the hitch kit. OEM will have a better fit and all the parts you need than aftermarket.

The OEM Nav cannot be retrofitted - it's just not economic. Buy a Garmin or a cellphone mount.

Great, thanks for your quick response I am new to the GX.

I found this link which should be the same install and part I need.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...and-pix-2.html

I would definitely spend more and get this OEM one (most of the 04 and up GX) seems to have this one. I am going to check if this one has the extra cooler hopefully it has it so the car can tow to the rated capacity.

The non-nav is not bad looking too for the age.

A non nav truck is super easy to retrofit a really nice Nav/Bluetooth setup into. As far as a hitch goes, it's also not difficult. It's super easy to add an external trans cooler, like a B&M 70628 for extra cooling. It's almost a must do for the 3rd gen 4Runner guys, as they're notorious for "pink milkshake". When I had my 4Runner, it was my first mod, took me about 2hrs to install in my garage.

Thanks, I forgot to check from the engine bay but from the driver side wheel I crawled under and saw a cooler on the driver side in front of the radiator and condenser. Look just like back Toyota engine oil cooler but I didn't check if it runs to the tranny (I assume this is for the tranny?) Overall I think this is good to go.

I happen to like the non Nav they are hard to come across in my area.
