Default Battery Question

Wanted to get everyone's opinion regarding the possible use of 24f size battery instead of the 27f battery. Reason why I ask is because Costco doesn't carry the 27f size but they do carry the 24f. Only real difference I see is the CCA and reserve capacity. 27f lexus battery that is in my truck now is 710 CCA and the 24f that costco sells is 700 CCA. Has anyone used a 24f battery??? Thanks!

Not sure I would go lower on the CCA than oem. Would it hurt, possibly. Less cell surface area, and this engine takes pretty big draw to start, I would try to go higher if at all possible. Could end up having alternator working double time

Walmart has a 24F with 750 CCA - their "Maxx EverStart" one. It's apparently not sold at every store, so order it on their web site and have it shipped for pickup.

You will be fine with 700 CCA you live in Az...it don't get cold there.

Just had my battery replaced in an last minute situation the other day at Walmart. The tech looked up which battery to put in my GX in his book and it said 24F. Chiph made a good point about the 750 CCA. I'll have to see if that's the one I got (hopefully so). FYI, I did have a 27F beforehand.

its been debated alot they are more or less interchangeable (the 27f is physically bigger though) but the v8 in colder conditions you would want to go with the 27f but many still use the 24f and its fine.
