Has anyone replaced their front grill???....after all these years it is becoming brittle and is cracked in a spot or two.

I've been looking to replace my grill for some time. Mine is starting to look pretty bad. I want the oem look, but I can't decide which one to buy.

It looks like the Toyota/Lexus original grill has part number 5310160560 and is about $250 http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEXUS-5310160560-GENUINE-OEM-GRILLE-ASSY-/121686584174?hash=item1c5515eb6e&vxp=mtr, while the aftermarket grill has part number LX1200124 and runs about $125 http://www.ebay.com/itm/5310160560-LX1200124-Chrome-shell-black-insert-New-Grille-Assembly-GX470-/231554198519?hash=item35e9b4abf7&vxp=mtr.

If anyone has any experience with the cheaper grill, let us know.

Hey guys,

I'm planning to remove my grill and plasti dip it to black. I think it will look awesome on my pearl white GX470.
Can anyone help me to figure out how to remove the grill, please? Haven't found any info on this here

Thank you.

I guess you haven't actually looked at how to remove it on your own? There's hardware accessible from the rear, with the hood open.

yep, what IanB2 said! There are 8 nuts that hold the assembly from the engine compartment side of the hood. Once those are removed, it should be straight forward.

Thanks guys. My car is at the service and the idea came up just now. Haven't had a chance to look at the grill.

I hit my grill up with black plasti-dip spray. I'll post a picture tomorrow.

Here is what mine looks like. Hopefully, after I'm done with my paint and headlights, and my car will shine, it will be a much better look with this black grill.

Just straight black plastic dip. I did my 4runners wheels, looks like a newer vehicle.
