Where are the drain holes for the sunroof?
Apparently there is water pooling up in the sunroof and am trying to clear the drain holes in my wife's 2006 GX470.
How long has this been going on? Don't ask? I was just informed last night.
Clean has a nice musky smell..been unfortunately going on for awhile.
Mostly water is leaking in on the passengers side. and hear the water moving around!
I did see an old post but it didn't help me.
So a few questions.
1. Is there a DIY video or steps somewhere?
2. Where are the drain holes...yes I am lame but I cant see them near the pillars on the sunroof.
I got bad eyes and they may be so dirty they are clogged and cant see them.
3. What is the best way to clean them?
4. Also somebody mentioned to remove a AC hose ..is that easy to do?
Thanks in advance for any help>

Okay..found the answer to question # 2
Had such some build up in there couldn't see the holes.
Still looking for the best way to clean out the holes.
Also does anybody know where and how to disconnect the drain tube from the AC?

I used soldering wire, but any sort of semi-rigid/semi-flexible wire that you can stick down into the tube and push out the debris. It needs to be long enough to reach from the sunroof down to the rocker area where the drains are located. Once you feel like you've cleared a path through the tube and your wire is all the way down to the drains, then you can take a plunging syringe or squeeze bottle, and push some water with a bit of force into the tubes to clean out the rest. You should have free flowing water that drips out the bottom pinch welds where the drain slots are located.

I've heard to use thick weed eater line to clean out the drains, good luck!

I usually go to lexus online parts places and look up the exploded diagram with all listed parts just to see what I'm dealing with. https://www.mylparts.com/parts/2007/...iagram=8940410
You have 4 drains to clear. The 2 in the back should exit behind the rear wheel.

My sunroof will not open and close properly, so I can't get it open enough to run wire down the drain hole. Is there an alternative to clean it out from the bottom?

I went from the top with stiff solid wire then had to go up through the bottom to get it completely opened. Was full of dirt, debris and pieces of leaves. Just went through the process on both sides several times until it was open and free flowing.

At least once a year with any of my Trucks/SUVs with sunroofs, I take a air compressor hose and blow them out. Pour hot water, blow them out, than repeat.
I also do this to drain holes in the where the wipers are too.

Do you have a picture of where the front and rear drain lines terminate near the wheel wells? I have cleaned the front drains many times but have never been able to get the trimmer wire completely through to where I can see it exiting the tubes under the vehicle.

I had wet passenger floor before I did what was mentioned above, and no more wet floor. My truck was in monsoon weather in Florida after I cleared everything out and no leaks whatsoever!
