First off, pardon the filthy truck. We just had 9" of snow several days ago and roads are covered with salt.

I'm not an engineer so can't tell you why Toyota designed the rear wiper so that you can't prop the wiper out further especially convenient when washing the vehicle. Easy mod and should take 5 minutes at most. I used an X-acto knife to trim the tab away. Pics are self explanatory.

I don't get full glass coverage on mine - the sweep misses an area at the top, by the CHMSL.

LOL, I've always pried that thing out so I can prop the wiper open whenever I clean my GX. Never thought about modifying it.
