Be sure to run the hose on the roof to make sure you don't end up with any water leaks after adjusting the catch.
You might want to put some silicone spray on the seals to loosen them up some (fill any gap).

In any event, it's -20C (-4F) here today, garden hoses have been packed away months ago, lol. I'd need a trip to the carwash (which it could use anyways) to test for leaks. I still don't see why it should be a concern though.

No, you're right. You're adjusting the catch tighter to depress the switch further. My bad.
70F in Austin today. Not quite beach weather, but I'll take it.

Well, the latch striker is mounted with beveled screws and holes in the mounting plate to the body, so no real adjustment available there. None of the various stoppers are adjustable on the door or the body. As a temporary measure, I loosened the bolt on the sensor, and stuck a washer behind it at the top, and tightened it back down. Serves to push the sensor out from the body, meaning it will get depressed when closed further, and should fix the issue. I don't like it long term as there's a gap where moisture could get into the body when it rains, carwash, etc. I think it's new sensor time. Needs to be ordered in says the dealer.

I ordered a new sensor, I'll update once I pick it up from the border, get it installed, and leave the truck out for a few cold nights.

I had the same problem with mine last year. I replaced the stopper and it has been ok since. I don't know if it gets crushed over time and doesn't push the sensor far enough. I put them side by side before replacing it and they looked the same.

So you replaced the stopper, and not the sensor? Strange that this fixed your issue, given that they looked the same upon side by side inspection, but whatever works.

Got the sensor, installed it today, it's a 2 min affair. Remove the 1 x 10mm bolt, pop the panel out of the rear driver side corner of the interior plastics, and reach in and unplug the sensor harness, the pinch tab is on the bottom edge. Plug in the new sensor, tighten the bolt, and you're done.
It's not brutal cold here right now, which I'm cool with, but it means testing is weather dependent as it had to be -20C or worse before this was an issue.

Had the same issue. I whacked the latch that is mounted to the vehicle (not the door) several times with a large hammer to push it in a little further. Wazinga! It worked!
