i have a friend with a 2004 land cruiser.....500k...orther than whats on the service schedule the only thing that left her stranded was a fuel pump...car was always serviced routinely at the toyota dealership...

Driver School Candidate
I'm in a 2 owner 2008 with 41,000 miles on it. I plan on keeping it as it is paid for and its one of the only vehicles that can hold two road bikes upright (the wife's requirement).

go figure...that has always been my truck requirement too, bikes go upright on Bike Porter...great for travelling with bikes...inside and locked...Had and 04, replaced with an 09....one of the few trucks that still have that vertical room for bikes...

Can you post a photo? So you don't need to disassemble the bikes first before loading inside the truck? we're talking about road bikes not mountain bikes, right? I've also looked at the Range Rover HSE but it did not have enough room inside (any RR owners on here?)

Just crossed 90k miles on 07" drives like a dream. Floor mats were beaten up/stained so got a new set from eBay for 85$. Super clean inside/out. Along with the new dash courtesy local Lexus dealer.

Prospective GX470 owner here.
Can you post a photo? So you don't need to disassemble the bikes first before loading inside the truck? we're talking about road bikes not mountain bikes, right? I've also looked at the Range Rover HSE but it did not have enough room inside (any RR owners on here?)

Doesn't have to be that sophisticated. There are two eyelets near the rear gate. I bought a short piece of wood from the HW store and mounted two hooks on it that would lock into the eyelets. I then picked up two quick release bike mounts from Performance Bikes for around $20 and attached them to the wood section. No compression mounts, adjustments or anything. Just hook up, mount the bikes and go. I used Velcro straps to hold the front wheel to the back and never had an ounce of trouble with them rubbing or moving around.

don't think I recall having that much space. I could fit two in with luggage and the back wheels were almost touching the seats and the bars almost at the crack window. The saddle would also barely clear the top, so not sure how much side to side, fire and aft you could get. I built what I did, because things had to fit into a fixed position. Just a recommendation. I also had a Saris 4 bike for the hitch for the long hauls, but getting to and from rides, the internal one was king.

wifes bike fits easily from front to back...mine slight angle...seats easily clear roof but my clamp is closer to the floor, yours is on a 2x4 and the performance front fork clamp is raised also...my profile is lower...back seats are certainly down with two bikes but single bike makes it on the angle...if you really want room for upright bikes you need to be looking a a suburban or a tahoe.....

It a 2006 with 95,800. Love it. Has some wear but runs great.
I skipped the big 90,000 service because I didn't want to pay that amount. But since I anticipate keeping a bit longer, I went ahead and dropped it off this morning for the timing belt, etc. yeah. I should do it myself but don't have the time.
My wife asked me if we intended to keep it another 5 years and I would like to. (Not fond of car payments). Was also thinking to give it to our son when he turns 16 in 3 years. Wife thinks it is too big of an engine and vehicle for first time driver. I like the size for safety.
Anyway what do you all have or anticipate on your GX?
In 5 years it will be 13 years old with 140,000 on it (I estimate)
