Default Battery replacement

Hi. Time for me ti get a new battery for my GX470 2007. Any suggestions what would be my best options, what brand and where to buy? Also, I was told that once battery is disconnected I will have to reprogram my car, is it true? If yes, how to replace the battery without need to reprogram my car? Thank you in advance.

you don't need to reprogram the car, but you will need to reset your windows / moonroof, which is basically to cycle through the open/close positions. it's very straight forward

of course you lose your radio station presets or nav destinations etc...

Most of the auto parts stores and dealers now have portable power supplies that plug into the cigarette lighter/DC power port, and the power that is supplied by them should maintain all settings while the battery is being swapped out.

I've always just bought the Everstart MAXX heavy duty batteries at Wal-mart. They have really good amperage ratings, and are made by johnson controls, who make a majority of the car batteries from all the other brands too.

If you are handy with a 9V battery connector, you can actually use a 9V battery during the replacement.

Costco, Walmart, etc. have pretty good batteries. I wouldn't rule out buying at the dealer - the Lexus battery might not be all that different in price (all batteries sold in the US are from one of two manufacturers anyway...) So can't hurt to ask.

Personally, I hate being stranded by a dead battery, so now I just replace them every three years.

If you want the BEST batteries- you go to sears and get their Marine batteries, they are a deep cycle battery that have serious CCA's.

But, you pay for them too. $300-500. But, they are far superior to even the Optima batteries.

I'm not big on Bosch parts.

But this is probably another US-made battery. This list says they're made by Johnson Controls. But the best way is to check the manufacturer's code on the Material Safety Data Sheet.
