Default Aftermarket running boards / step bars?

The right running board was damaged before I bought my GX. I had planned on removing the stock running boards and going naked. Replacement with OEM is awfully expensive and I actually think the GX looks better without them.

Today my wife vetoed this idea as she needs the step to put the kiddo in the child seat. I'm now in the market for some aftermarket running boards or step bars that look and function well. Any recommendations? For those who have removed the stock boards what did you do for front mudflaps?

Any pictures would be welcome. Thanks!

I'm going to take mine off soon (weather finally cooling down), if you're interested in one of mine shoot me a PM and we can work something out.

This is the only actual GX market aftermarket slider, that being said, a majority of 4th gen 4runner sliders may work with minimal modification to mount up

I just put in an order for the OPOR sliders. I'll post pics when it's done.

Yes, please post pictures of them when done. At $450 that is a really good deal for sliders that are even halfway decent.

My total cost was 450 + 150 (powder coating) + 150 (shipping) = $750. I also ordered the kit ($250) for converting to traditional springs for the rear if/when the airbags go out. They're fine now but if they fail I will already have the hardware for immediate conversion.

Sweet! Let us know how the powder coat looks.

I decided to go a different route with the finish of my sliders. As my wife will actually use them as step bars, I wanted them to be grippy. I ordered the sliders unfinished and plan on coating them with POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating then POR-15 Bed Liner, both rolled on. Hopefully that will make them rust proof and less slick than with powder coat or paint.

And if it looks like crap or otherwise doesn't work, I'll just have it powder coated locally .

Duplicolor Bed liner in a can works amazing, I have painted all my metal bumpers with the stuff, great finish and quality
