Default Gear Oil Study with graphs

Not sure if this has already been posted but a quick search did not show anything.

I found this study very informative even if it is from 2007. Looks like Amsoil is the best all around gear oil according to these tests.
In addition, I was surprised how poorly Royal Purple did in some of the tests for being an expensive premium oil.

On the first page it says this "study" was done by Amsoil. As far as I'm concerned, it's marketing material. I wouldn't trust a word of it.

I would normally agree with you if some of the tests/results seemed odd, had few benchmarks, had very little details or looked to be 'statistically massaged'. Although it could have been faked, the images of the affidavit's affirming the testing methods and procedures followed ATSM and SAE guidelines give it a little more weight than a snake oil test IMHO.
