60k miles transmission changed or flushed
My truck is 06, 60k miles is coming soon . I really need my GX get transmission fluid changed or flushed, i dont know which options to choose so any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.
I did call Lexus dealer in the morning and they gave me the quote for transmission fluid changed is $178, flushed is $250 and i just curious it is easy job to DIY or have to bring the truck to the dealer to get it done. Actually i want to keep the truck for a bit longer.
Thanks!

In theory, if you can catch every drop that comes out, and measure it so that you put the exact same amount back in of the new Toyota WS fluid, you should be fine.
If you doubt your ability to do this, then take it to the dealer. $178 isn't a horrible amount to pay (about the same as I paid on my Hondas)

I think they refer to flush as a total replacement of 12 quarts old for 12 quarts new using a dedicated WS fluid BG machine. I would go that route personally. I plan to do it myself when the time comes. Have done it on GS350 sedan and it was not bad at all.
