Range of miles on computer
I normally have the range after a fuel re-fill shows 278 miles . Today I had to replace my battery pep boys under warranty Bosch lasted 18 months free replacement. The idiot that did the work broke about 6 plastic clips I dont know why he had to take the shroud on top of the radiator as well as missing clips on the plastic cover around the brake reservoir. In any event the battery was disconnected for at least an hour. When he was done of course I had to reset the windows seats and radio and clock and sunroof . I noticed that the range now reads 350 miles . The gas tank was full when I took it in for the work. Is this the correct range I should have on the dash computer . If so then I guess the new range if it is correct
happened because of the battery swap reset ecu. What range of miles left do some of our forum members show after a fuel refill.

I'm guessing that the reading for the range is based on your (recent) past history of mpg. For example, if your fuel economy history has been 18 mpg, the range will read out at a higher number than if your fuel economy history has been 14 mpg.
Since your fuel economy history was lost with the disconnected battery, it is likely the case that the range starts out at a default level, which appears from your experience to be 350 miles, and I would think that, as you build up a new fuel economy history, the range number after a fill up will adjust itself to be consistent with that fuel economy history.
As a point of reference, my range starts out at about 400 miles after a fill up, but almost none of my typical driving is done in stop-and-go conditions, and my typical fuel economy is a bit over 20 mpg.
