Default Did 120k miles service

Over the weekend replaced spark plugs, gear oils (front, rear and transfer), PCV valve and brake oil.

Attached are the pictures of old spark plug and PVC valve. Spark plugs looks OK to me for that many miles. PCV did show some light build-ups (very light though).

Of all gear oils, front differential was little thick and brownish, rear was not that bad at all and transfer oil looked like a new oil. I guess severe beating get absorbs by front differential. For records, I replaced all three of them at around 60K at Lexus. This time I used Mobil Synthetic gear lube LS 75W- 90. Front diff drain plug (has magnet) didn't show any metal debris.

After all these changes, when I started SUV I felt it was more responsive to gas pedal (new spark plugs?). Used OEM spark plugs and PCV valve. PCV valve is right next to engine oil filler tube, covered by a rubber mask.

Nice! Where is the PCV valve located? I have been meaning to replace mine for good measure.

Facing the SUV from the front (driver side is on the right), PCV is at the right side of the engine block. Right next to where engine oil filler tube (column) meet the block. It is screwed to the block and covered by black plastic/rubber kind of material.

You need to remove decorative middle cover to access it. It costs me $15 from Lexus dealer.

it took me awhile to find my PCV a few weeks ago, I never have seen one all cover up with a foam cover like that before.

How did you remove the pcv valve? Mine is on very tight and I didn't want to force it. Also what torque did you set it at? Thanks a bunch

Just took it out with a big wrench, mine was pretty tight too, for the install I just tightened it up with common sence , I could not get a torque wrench in there.
