Found the bolt pattern for my GX:

2004 Lexus GX470 6 lug 5.5 inch or 139.7 mm Standard Offset

http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse...._Reference.cfm

And here's the list for Toyota's:

what is the difference between "medium" and "standard" offset? toyota lists the 4runner as medium and the GX is listed as standard.

Apparently 5mm.

Our stock GX wheels have a +25mm offset. Stock 17" 4Runner wheels have a +30mm offset.

The GX has an offset of +25mm for the OEM 17" wheels, so I guess that is the "standard" offset.
I wouldn't go any higher than +25mm. IMO 0 to about +15mm looks best on a GX (wider stance).

Fun to play with:

I'll be putting my OEM rims up for sale in April. If you want them, PM me.

For the same generation, I believe the 4runners have the same offset as ours -- 25mm. I know the 18" t4r limited wheels I had for a while were +25mm.

No they're not the same as our wheels. Stock 17" 4th gen 4Runner wheels are +30mm.

Not quite that simple.
4th gen (like ours)
17x7 et30 (this one was new to me, just verified. you're right, there is an et30) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Set-of-4-05-13-Toyota-Tacoma-Factory-17-Wheels-OEM-Rims-4Runner-FJ-Sequoia-TRD-/261413565463?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Wheels&hash=item3cdd767417&vxp=mtr17x7.5 et25
18x7.5 et25

Sequoia 17x7.5 et15

5th gen
Trail appears to be et15
FJ appears to be et15

You're going to confuse others.
4th gen 4Runner 17" OEM wheels are 17" x 7.5" / +30mm offset. I know because I'll looked at almost every 6lug wheel that Toyota had when I was looking for new wheels for my 1st gen Tundra.

I'm embarrassed to say how long I spent browsing the web trying to find data on offset for 4th gen 4runners.

* You're right, at least some of the 17" 4th Gen 4runner wheels are +30mm
* Oddly, the 18" limited wheels from the 4th Gen (that I had on mine for a while) are +25, just like our GX
* The elusive 17" rim that came on the 4runner sport was always one of my favorites (brushed aluminum, IIRC made by BBS). I found tons of them for sale online tonight and not a one mentioned offset. I could have sworn it too was +25. RC, do you have data on this wheel?

Oh, and even better: 5mm is in the "barely noticeable" camp. I have 5mm spacers on my 911 (came on it) and you'd have to be a real nerd (like me) to notice the visual difference.

And, all that said I'd go +15mm if I was going for another set of OEM wheels. I'm a fan of the new FJ and 4runner Trail wheels.

Cheers.

Do you have any pictures of them?

I love BBS'. I had 3 different sets sold by Toyota that were an upgrade option through their South East Toyota (SET) division on my 1st gen Tundra:
  1. 18" BBS-RW (Tundra) *Darrell Waltrip edition
  2. 20" BBS-RD (FJ)
  3. 17" BBS-RD (FJ)

Count me in as a nerd.

I have 5mm H&R spacers on the rear of my E39. You wouldn't think 5mm would be noticeable but it is.
