Default What's it worth?

I have had a major change in my life as my wife passed away last week. I'm not doing anything very soon, but I now have an extra vehicle and some options.

Any comments on the market for a 2004 GX, 94K, ML, 3rd row, tow package, Nav, good condition overall? 90K has been done, but it has some cracks on the dash and the Nav player isn't working. Tires, brakes, etc all under 10k on them.

Technically, it's worth whatever someone will pay for it.

94k miles is very low for a 2004, and you're under the "magic" 100k mark, so that's a plus. But the broken nav is a problem (it's the unit under the seat, not in the dash, right?) Dash cracks also take away value just because the new owner will be looking at them the whole time they're driving. Having the 90k service done is a big plus, especially if you have paperwork showing that it was done. Having paperwork for any other maintenance/repairs you've done is also good.

My guess you could sell it in the $18-20,000 range to an individual. $15-$17,000 to a dealer.
Your mileage may vary...

Sorry for your loss!! My condolences to your and your family.

Chips estimate of $18-$20K is way off. I don't think it will sell close to that. You're probably looking at $14K give or take a grand to the right buyer. The best way to check prices is to look on autotrader / eBay in your area.

I'd have to agree with RCsGX, cracked dash and broken nav are both big "image" items when someone's shopping for a used vehicle, and aren't cheap fixes.

My condolences as well, keep your chin up.

I dunno. GX470s don't really come on the market all that often (at least that I've seen), and they still look pretty modern today. I think there's more demand than you suspect from people who want:

1. Something stylish at a good price
2. A frame-based SUV to tow their boat
3. Something unique to go off-road in

But like I said, it depends on what the local market is like.

There is a car audio shop here that can fix the Nav unit and I would get that done. Just thinking out loud (kind of). We bought my wife a new anti-GX (Prius) back in October. I like the Prius but need something to pull the boat. I really like the vehicle, but I really don't have time to mess with repairs and upgrades going forward.

I bought mine (2004, 97k miles, no third row, no nav, no dash cracks) for just under 14k.

My condolences on your loss.

According to Kelley Blue Book, the value of your GX is a little below the higher numbers suggested by others in this thread, but that is with a working nav system. According to Edmunds, your GX, also with a working nav system, is a little below the lower numbers suggested by some in this thread. So, there is a fairly wide range.

As others have said, the non-working nav system and the dash cracks are likely to be the two factors that bring down the value your vehicle, and, unfortunately, neither is likely to be an inexpensive repair.

That said, my suggestion would be to sit back and wait a bit before making a decision as to whether to sell the GX. I'm sure that you have much on your mind and that it will take some time to deal with your loss. At this point, the 10 year old GX has already suffered its greatest depreciation, and its value isn't going to change much in, say, 6 months. At some point in the future, you are more likely to be able to make a better decision as to whether you really want to sell the vehicle, and, if you do decide to sell it, being patient is more likely to allow you to maximize your return on the sale.

My condolences on your loss. I have the same exact vehicle with the same mileage (92K). Just had the 90K service done with brand new tires from Costco.

Last week I was at the dealer and had my dealer give me a quick value if I needed to move into something smaller like the RX.

Anyway, with EVERYTHING working (and our car has always been garaged with excellent condition), was offered about 17K.

Has to be as a trade not an outright cash buy.

Yes, it would have been a trade if I wanted to move into something smaller and newer. Needless to say we are very happy with our Gx. Some minor issues but has been very good family vehicle for us

x2. No dealer is going to buy an '04 GX for 17K let alone an individual. And Shakman also has a cracked dash. Personally I would've taken that deal.
