- Raybestos R-300 Front Rotors: 28.45mm
- Akebono ACT976 Front Pads 11.50mm

OEM SPECS
- My OEM rotors were: 26.3mm
- My OEM pads were: 8.12mm



Install was a breeze. Follow the attached PDF and you will have no problem doing this job yourself. If you can remove your wheel & tire you can change your rotors and or pads. Only things I can add to the PDF are;

• wash the new rotors
• brush the rust off of the hub really well with a wire brush
• once you have the new rotor on it'll be loose until you install the pads. Hold it in place with a wheel lug so while you're tightening the caliper bolts your new rotor doesn't get banged up hitting the caliper
• The 1x-12mm brake line bolt gets torqued down to 9ftlb.
• The 2x-17mm caliper bolts get torqued down to 91ftlb.
• check the manufacturer to see if bedding in is needed

OEM Pads up top / Akebono pads on the bottom
** Pay attention when you remove your OEM pads. There's a pad that has a little tab (see red arrows) and one that doesn't. The pad that has the tab goes on the inside of the caliper IE: side facing your shock.

what shocks are you running on the rear ? how do you like compared to the OEM struts?

On the rear I'm running Bilstein 5100s. Overall I love the new setup. I didn't notice any leaking oil on my OEM struts but they were tired. The setup now rides so smooth. My wife took the GX out the other day and she didn't even get 5mins away before she called me and said how she loved the new coilovers.

About the rotors & pads, I'm hoping the rotors hold up...I know the pads will. I installed Akebono Euros & StopTech slotted rotors on my wifes Bimmer back in '07. Some 60-70K miles later and both have plenty of life left. I wanted to buy some frozen StopTech slotted rotors for the GX but thought I'd try something new this time. I'll definitely update this thread as time goes by.

I haven't measured the pad thickness but I have a little over 7K miles on the pads and rotors and they're still doing great.

Hey guys, sorry to bump an old thread. Trying to get some feedback on these rotors. Has anybody used them? Did it ever rust on the part where the brake pad does not touch and the coated top hat? Can't seem to understand why the coating stopped before the part of the brake pad surface. I've had e-coated brake rotors in my other cars, and they usually coat the entire thing when new and the pads just do its thing and remove the part it touches. I already bought Centric blank rotors for the rear 2 years ago, and very displeased as the part that didn't have coating rusted and wanting to replace it now.

HI Pro. i have a stupid question
I have installed, for the first time!!! , front and rear brake pads on my 2004 lexus GX470.
BrakeBest Select Ceramic BB C606 - rear and BrakeBest Select Brake Pads BB2 SC976 -front
BUT didn't installed on them anti-squeal ship plates because i have discover them on old dirty pads after install.

how bad it is? should i install this anti-squeal ship plates on new pads ?
new pads have some plastic covering on sides. Please advice.

Drive it and see if it starts squealing. If it does, install the plates.
