2008 GX and I noticed that there is blinking red light with key logo on my dash. When locked, it stays lit and does not blink. Is this normal?

How can I eliminate it? Just worried that it might drain the battery.

Any reset procedure or anything? I can't see any instruction on the owners manual.

I think that is your security sytem showing it is armed. Maybe Maybe not

It's normal. It's to tell a would be thief to stay away. It won't drain your battery.

I have a 2006 GX with the same light but mine blinks even after I lock the doors, so I'm not sure why yours would stop blinking. Maybe not arming the security system? i would have it checked.

The security indicator light starts flashing the second you remove your key from the ignition. Once you press the lock on the FOB (set the alarm) the security indicator light will turn solid for approximately 30 seconds then will start flashing again.

I always though it stayed solid. I guess I never hung around the GX long enough after I armed it to know or not. When I'm at home it's in my garage so I don't need to lock it and never paid attention to it.
