Default Techstream

I thought I would post this here under the title of "Techstream" in case some don't make it to the other thread where the Techstream was talked about.

If anyone is interested, you can pick up one of these Techstream Units for less than $30.00 on Amazon.

I've just scratched the surface of what you can do with the unit, but here are a few of the "Customizable Settings" you can alter:

Wireless Door Lock
Security
Illuminated Entry
Light Control
Slide Roof
Display
Smart Key / Access
Others
Door Lock
Power Window
Warning
Tilt & Telesco
Air Conditioner
Unit Conversion
Seat

I was also able to check the "Health" of several other systems on the vehicle.

I'm unsure what Lexus charges to connect to their unit, but for thirty bucks, I give it

Just thought some may be interested.

Using Win XP on the old windows machine and have it running on XP in Parallels on my MacBook Pro.

It only runs on a 32 Bit OS but you can find an old laptop with Win XP etc. for next to nothing, or run it in a virtual environment.

If you decide get one and have any problems, drop me a line. I'm no computer genius but I know enough to be dangerous

I got TechStream, and have used it on my 5th gen 4runner, and it is awesome. You can even use it to help bleed your brakes, so you don't need a person in the car pumping the pedal.

I have yet to hook it up to the GX, but as soon as I do, I am disabling that stupid auto steering wheel tilt!

I am surprised there isn't much info and writeups on what you can do with Techstream.

I was very surprised as well. This is one cool tool!

Looks like a whole bunch of diagnostic stuff as well to play with.

Giddy Up!

Crispy:
Thanks for posting this info!

I'd love to get rid of the steering wheel tilt and change the lock settings.

Rc,

They all say to run it on 32 bit, I am running on 64bit without any Virtual. I posted a link how to do it under 64, If you recall back when I was having problem with the DAC swith I mentioned it to you, here is the link to Techstream post #36 and #37

By the way you can program new keys, I saved hundreds by making and programming the spare keys.

could you possible cross post the attachment here so we don't have to sign up at a tundra forum?

awesome. unlink the defrost and a/c is reason enough for me to get it. I always hated the way the defrost cycled the a/c.

Also, being able to decouple the sunroof from opening when I drop all my windows with the key.

Good stuff! Thanks, guys!
