Default what's your 0-60 time?

Hi. Just out of curiosity, what are your 0-60 times? I recorded 11.3 with the following conditions:

Elevation 5800'
Temperature 68°
Driver only, no passengers
Rear seats installed
3/4 full gas tank
Aircon off

Obviously a lower weight, elevation and temperature will yield much better results :-)

What's the GX's official 0-60 time? Does anyone know? I used Torque Pro connected by Bluetooth to the ELM327 to record my times. Also I revved the engine before releasing the brake with my left foot

Seriously? 0 - 60 time on a GX? Are you trying to outrun a zebra!

Official time is around 8.1 seconds

"Hi. Just out of curiosity, what are your 0-60 times?"

0 - 45 mph....very fast*

0 - 60 mph....fast enough*

60 - 80mph...could be faster*

*Measurements were taken at an altitude of 650 feet, temperature 45.6 degrees F, one passenger on board, windows and sunroof closed, mirrors folded back, 1/4 tank of gas, WeatherTech floor mats removed

I don't doubt the ~10s at altitude. Thin air sucks performance. Plus thin air sucks.

Lexus wouldn't be the first to record / publish perf times at a more friendly sea level.

Why is this even question? lol.. I had a '04 V8 4-runner (which is the same as GX) i did 0-60 in about 7 secs flat at about 644 ft above sea level. (For giggles, I raced my friends IS300 and blew his doors off to about 50, but after 60 mph he over took me and pass by.)

At altitude when I was in Mexico City, 7,411 feet at the track, my fastest in my RX300 was 17.931 1/4 mile (sea level stock would be 16.8), but a V8 4Runner I ran I got in the high 16s.

Lexmex thank you for a serious answer :-)

It obviously is a serious question because there are lots of people on this forum asking how to squeeze a little more power out of their engines so I'm not the only one interested in wanting to go faster in a GX :-D

Toyota already did a great job of squeezing power out of the 2uz-fe. Just enjoy your GX for what it is, a heavy luxury SUV.

I happen to agree for the most part. I looked over the 4Runner and there were some areas that could be improved, but for the bang for the buck, they did do a good job. That's not the same story for my RX300, but even for that vehicle at the time the RX300 entered the market, the 220hp was among the tops in the SUV competition at that time.

I've had a couple of 1st gen Tundras through the years and I've seen guys try everything. To get any noticeable power out of our engines the only way is to go forced induction. You can add headers, exhaust, intake, UNICHIP etc. but you're luck to get 20-30HP and even then most of that power will come from the headers which will gain most of it's power in the upper RPM range.
