Default '04 GX Tire Pressure Alarm

We had this alarm for about a month now. I check each tires and the spare are okey. So, it could be a bad sensor. But, how could I know which tire had the bad sensor? Help!

Gonna have to take to toyota and use the laptop to see what sensor is bad--bout the only way to do it. I Think they have some sort of battery in them too

If you are interested, there is a good post on here with directions on how to disable your "Low Pressure" sensors.

I have two sets of tires and rims and only the summers have the sensors. I looked up the price of the sensors and decided to just disconnect them instead. Took about 10 minutes.

Cheers!

Before you mess around looking for a bad sensor, try this: Inflate ALL FIVE tires to a minimum of 35 pounds at the same time--yes, pull that spare out so you can inflate it at the same time as the other four--then wait a couple of days to see what happens as you drive the truck. This may work. If not, you haven't spent any money, just a little time.

It's likely the spare that's low, but I'm another guy that simply disabled the TPMS system on our truck, hate those nanny electronics.

With an '04, and assuming orig sensors, one or more likely has a dead battery. Most TPMS sensors are designed to have a 4-5 yr battery life... though in my experience Toyotas last longer than most others.

Any decent tire shop can use a handheld scanner and tell you if each sensor is transmitting or not & w/ an '04, replace them much cheaper than at the dealer (may not have to dismount the tire either - just break bead if you have OEM 17" rims).

Good luck

Thanks to all your suggestions. I will go to tire plus and they will troubleshoot which is which.

Great move--better than disabling the "Safety" system

Perhaps it depends on the month it was made?

I have an 04 with the TPMS "Safety" System

First thing I disabled.

Is their a beep associated with the tpms icon or is it simply an icon that comes on?
