I didn't mind the barn door, when I had the GX. It allows you to load really heavy objects, right into the floor of the truck. It is something, that some people get used to. Now that I have the LC, the top half opens upward, keeping the rain off our head while you are loading. The bottom half is short in depth, and light weight. However, if you are in the garage, you have to make sure the upper half of the lift gate, doesn't hit the botoom of the garage door, and scratch your paint. Nothing is perfect.

ahhh ha! After reading the instruction manual and looking at that yellow tape on that "stopper"..... I could never figure it out. I feel FREE now!

I like the door, simply be because it doesn't really allow REALLY large objects to be loaded that partially poke out of the back. Why do i Like this? Because when i had my 89' Lnadcruiser and my Escalade ESV, I would get recruited every time my brother moved to come and help, which he seems to do an AWFUL LOT!!!!

I was trying to find a separate lever or tab to push/pull. Couldn't find one. Figured the previous owner broke it off. Then this video shows up! Thanks to all responsible.

My GX rear door makes an unpleasant 'raspy sound' when opening and closing. Lubed the slider with silicone spray. May try some grease. Anybody else have this problem? The slider sounds very un-Lexus like. Hey, but now it locks open! Happy Day!
