Check Engine, Traction control, anti skid...
Battery died on the GX, so I jumped the battery but it blew out an O2 sensor.
Pohanka is charging me $190 for the battery replacement. $720 for O2 sensor replacement.
I've never had an O2 sensor replaced on any cars before so I'm not sure if $720 is reasonable.
Break down of the cost was $300 for air fuel sensor + $420 for labor.
I had a habit of changing out my car batteries every 4 year as a precaution but I left the GX 470 as is until the battery crapped out. I'm kick myself for it... I feel like I could have avoided the O2 sensor if I had changed the battery out as planned. So, does $720 sound normal? I read that some only paid around $400 for O2 sensors + labor.

Abnormal..whoever quoted this is a ripper !!!! This whole job can be done, provided you are dead sure all these component are dead. Run a report from the ECM by the pepboys and to know the diagnostic faults for free, and chip in here.

$290 for this part seems expensive when other OE o2 sensors are around $50 give or take...
i'm aware that dealers charge the pre-set billable hours regardless of how long it actually takes to do the repair...but 4 hours for a replacement of 1 sensor seems bit high unless that specific sensor is hard to get to or requires removal of header or something crazy like that.

OE AF sensor for a downstream is about $120 vs. OE O2 sensor (upstream) is about $60 so a quote of $290 with the dealership markup for an AF sensor sounds 'normal'.

P.S. How many miles did you have on your GX?

Ah. Reason why I asked is the part and process for either the upstream O2 sensor or downstream AF sensor are different. 89467B refers to the 'downstream' bank which is a bit more involved than the upstream sensors because if I'm remembering correctly, for the downstream AF sensors, they are a bit tedious to get to them since the AF locations is post-cat. I can see how they came up with the 4 hours because they basically have to disassemble a lot and reassemble.

Yup. I think you have to remove the header, which is normal for most vehicles.
