So, if I want the best, is it the LTX M/S2?

+1! The LTX M/S2 is the BEST all-around tire I have ever used on a truck or SUV. Smooth ride, good handling, able to deal with rough roads and they're very quiet. They have lots of sipes, which gives them great traction on packed snow & ice, they are fine off-road, great in rain or on dry roads, but not too great in gooey mud. Good thing we don't have much mud to deal with here in the high desert.

Good advice... I also checked Consumer Reports, who ranks LTX M/S2 as the "best" all season tire. I have 90,000 on my GX470 and will be getting new tires before winter. Pleased to Know I have made the right choice.

I would have to agree with all, have run the stock CT's, 30,000 miles on vredestein winter tires and then back to Michelin...these tires are quiet, as good a handling as you can get in a truck, excellent in rain...normally by now I could tell you about snow but it did not snow in NJ last year....but I will assume the CT's were excellent around here so the LT m/s should be even better.

Ah. No worries.

If it did, I probably would of bought those instead... I'll have to check. Thanks

Default Michelin LTX MS2

IMO you will not buy a better tire. I have run these tires on my Ford pick-up and my 4runner and now have a brand new set on my 2006 GX. I am selling my 4 runner this week and the tires have 62,000 miles on them with at least another 10,000 miles to go. After I put the new ones on my GX, I noticed much better directional control over the original Michelin's which I think were the cross terrains. And the tire co. salesman said that because of the neutral suspension on Toyotas these tires will run true(read will not cup) with great mileage whereas he would not recommend them on some vehicles because of premature wear. They run smooth and quiet and are superior tires in the rain and snow. I know that I sound like a salesman but I would not buy any other tire.

I just put more CTs on our 04 GX. They replaced an older set of CTs that had probably 50k miles on them. I could not be happier with them. Will keep buying them until the stock is run through seeing as they have been discontinued. Oh well, I'll probably go with the M/S2 when I can't get the CTs anymore.

I'd recommend the Cross Terrains. Mine have 77k on them and still have tread left.

Thumbs up

I've put about 5,000+ miles on my new LTX M/S2's including a 1,800 mile road-trip between Seattle and Banff, AB over the last 3 months. I've been *extremely* impressed with them. I barely hear them at highway speeds even around 80 MPH.

Cheers,
Kermee
