Very easy to a leak down test. Put cylinder top dead center. Use a 3/8 extension out in camber rotate crank until it is at the highest. Buy gauge from harbor freight. Put air in. Listen for the air. If it bubbles the radiator then it's head gasket. If u hear it inthe throttle body then it is intake valve. If it is dip stick then you know rings or pistons. If it is exhaust then you know exhaust valves. $60 gauge and a compressor. Probably burnt valve or sticky valve

Thanks for all the information, you guys are great. Do any of you have an idea what it would cost to have a valve job done on a GX as it really seems to look like that is the problem. Also I have a call into Lexus Corp and they said i should here back within 2 days, if they tell me they can't do anything I will have a leak down test done and let you guys know what i find out.
Thanks again

definitely get a second opinion at a reliable independent. You might try Angies List. It's only 3.99/month or something and you can get a real good idea about almost any local shop.

wow i dont believe this. i have a 09 gx470 and i had this same problem! but my check engine lights and vsc lights came on after my oil change. my mechanic told me that it was a evap code. but i was wondering how the evap system has any relations to the vsc lights. man i hope it isnt as bad as you guys how had the misfire in the cylinders

That is not the same problem, it is only similar in that the check engine light came on... it was also not related to the oil change... VSC can be disabled by malfunctions in the emissions monitoring system, which includes the Evaporative emissions system. Might be something as simple as a loose gas cap.

I would just drive it with a misfire.
